Highlights
- Consolidated results represent strong earnings from each ongoing business, reflecting a growing global customer base
- Consolidated revenues totaled $5.3 billion for Q3 2010, up from and $4.5 billion in Q3 2009
- Revenues reflect strong customer retention and new sales in each targeted market segment
- Net income for the third quarter totaled $307 million, or $1.13 per share, compared to $329 million, or $1.19 per share, for the same period last year
- Net income included losses of $44 million from results for the Guaranteed Minimum Death Benefits and Guaranteed Minimum Income Benefits businesses
- CIGNA estimates full year 2010 earnings to be in the range of $4.35 to $4.50 per share.
