CMS to disclose exchange enrollment data next week

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Marilyn Tavenner said the agency will be releasing enrollment data for the federal and state health insurance exchanges next week. During a hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, Tavenner said about 700,000 people have signed up for coverage through the federal online marketplace, reported The Washington Post. The government aims to have 800,000 people enrolled by the end of the month, she added. Despite multiple technical challenges plaguing the HealthCare.gov website, Tavenner urged consumers to visit the exchange to shop for coverage. "I would encourage folks who have not been on the Web site in the last few days to please go on the Web site," Tavenner said at the hearing.
