Calif. rate regulation ramps up; Highmark provides wellness texts;

>California's insurers and doctors have launched a new campaign to prevent stricter regulation of insurance rates. The newly formed group, Californians Against Higher Health Care Costs, is lobbying against a potential ballot measure that would give the state greater rate-setting authority, reported the Los Angeles Times. The insurer also has launched a mobile version of its website, which includes claims history and provider director, for iPhone and Android platforms. Article

> Humana is providing free counseling for those affected by recent tornadoes in Kentucky, Indiana or Ohio, reported Business First. The insurer's behavioral health subsidiary LifeSynch will provide "personalized, one-on-one" phone sessions with a counselor to help with stress, anxiety and grief. Counselors also can connect callers to appropriate community resources and professional services. Article
