A Pennsylvania judge granted Aetna an injunction against Jefferson Hospital, which sought to terminate its contract with the insurer on Jan. 31, according to Pittsburgh Business Times. The hospital, part of the Allegheny Health Network acquired by Highmark in 2011, disputed lower rates that Aetna put in place in October 2013 following its acquisition of HealthAmerica, with which Jefferson signed a three-year contract in 2012. The decision is based on a condition of Highmark's Allegheny Health buy, which states that it cannot terminate any reimbursement contracts before December 2015. Article
