Miller brings rich experience in quantifying and improving health care quality and efficiency

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Today Univita announces the addition of Cindy Miller, 25-year actuarial expert in health care product pricing, development and valuation, to its expanded executive team. Miller will serve as Senior Vice President of Innovation and Pricing for the company.

Miller will lead the charge of quantifying the value of Univita’s products for health plans and their respective members. She will also design and implement new products that help to improve health care quality and efficiency.

“With Cindy’s guidance, we will expand our ability to support innovative risk-sharing arrangements with our clients,” says Hugh Lytle, Univita President and Chief Executive Officer. “Cindy will also advance our ability to measure product effectiveness and tailor care delivery solutions with our health plan partners to achieve optimum patient outcomes.”

Most recently, as Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary for WellPoint, Miller oversaw the actuarial functions for all of WellPoint’s business. During her time at WellPoint, she also held positions overseeing mergers and acquisitions, the integration of acquisitions, risk management and the information management functions of the company. Miller holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University and a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from Indiana University. She is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and holds the designation of Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst.

Speaking about her goals at Univita, Miller shares, “My work will focus on giving health plans the information they need to offer members integrated, home-based care solutions in the most efficient, effective way possible.
