Health Dialog today announced that its NCQA-accredited disease management programs have now also been NCQA-certified for ‘Performance Reporting’. This enhanced accreditation status makes Health Dialog one of only a few companies that have earned this certification in 2012-2013.

Performance Reporting certification allows data collected by Health Dialog Health Coaches to be used by health plan customers to supplement HEDIS scores, which factor into their Star measures for Medicare Advantage (MA) quality reporting. Star measures are critical for MA plan customers because they play a critical role in the allotment of funding from the federal government and signal quality of care to the market.

“We are pleased to add Performance Reporting certification to our Disease Management accreditation status,” said James Tugendhat, CEO, Health Dialog. “All NCQA-accredited disease management companies will be required to pass this audit in the future, so this puts us ahead of the curve in our ability to serve customers, particularly when it comes to allowing them to supplement their HEDIS scores and ever-critical Stars ratings.”

NCQA Disease Management accreditation demonstrates compliance with its high standards for disease management programs for people with a variety of chronic conditions. Health Dialog’s disease management programs for asthma, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart failure and coronary artery disease have been accredited by NCQA since 2002.

“Disease management offers tremendous promise for improving the care received by the chronically ill. By achieving NCQA DM Certification, an organization is showing that it is ready to provide specific services that can help fulfill that promise,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane.

NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations. It also recognizes clinicians and practices in key areas of performance. NCQA is committed to providing health care quality information for consumers, purchasers, health care providers and researchers.
