Aetna Adds Summa Health System to Network of Medicare Advantage Hospitals

Aetna (NYSE: ) announced today that Summa Health System has been added to its network of participating hospitals for Medicare Advantage members. Summa Health System has been part of Aetna’s commercial network since 2004.

Beginning this month, members of Aetna Medicare Advantage plans can receive covered services at in-network rates from all Summa Health System facilities, which include 8 hospitals and 22 community health centers.

“Aetna is very pleased to announce this collaboration with Summa Health System,” said David Everhart, head of Aetna’s Medicare Advantage operation in northeast Ohio. “We are proud to offer our customers broad access to high quality hospitals and providers in Ohio. This agreement now expands that access for our Medicare Advantage members in the Akron area.”
