A New Jersey man pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to bribe a doctor and one count of money laundering in connection with a massive fraud scam orchestrated by Biodiagnostic Laboratory Services LLC (BLS), according to the United States Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey. Michael Zarrelli added his name to the list of 37 conspirators--24 of whom are doctors--who played a role in a scam that cost Medicare and private insurers more than $100 million. Zarrelli admitted to conspiring with BLS president David Nicoll and others to bribe doctors to refer blood specimens to BLS, generating more than $400,000 in reimbursement for the company. Nicoll and his brother, Scott, along with four other BLS associates, pleaded guilty to fraud charges in June 2013. Announcement
