Nonprofit group hopes to discourage exchange enrollment

Amid efforts by the federal government and private insurers, a nonprofit group is hoping its own marketing campaign will discourage consumers from enrolling in health insurance exchanges, reported LifeHealthPro. In its "Refuse to Enroll" ads, the Citizens' Council for Health Freedom has listed four reasons consumers shouldn't buy health policies on the online marketplaces, including claims that application data isn't private, policies will have narrow networks and premiums will be high. The campaign runs counter to outreach efforts from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and insurers including the Health Care Services Corporation that hope the online marketplaces help boost enrollment.
