Next open enrollment may be more difficult than last year

Last open enrollment period was no walk in the park--plagued by backend issues and other complications, HealthCare.gov did not get off to a great start. This upcoming enrollment period, set to kick off on November 15, may be even more difficult than the last, reports the New York Times. With estimated double-digit rate hikes and the goal to enroll about five million new members, yet another concern surfaces--the time frame is now three months instead of six. Hopefully the site's glitches are out of its system, and the process for consumers will run smoother than it has in the past. "The exchange can't work worse than it did last year," Dr. Peter Beilenson, chief executive of Evergreen Health Co-op, an insurer in Maryland, told the Times. Article
