Most patients don't know payment responsibility

A large majority of patients--72 percent--don't know their payment responsibilites when they visit a doctor, says a new report from InstaMed. The report also found 79 percent of consumers would want to pay their provider bills online, either through the doctor or health plan website. These findings, coupled with the increased consumer focus in healthcare, show health payment methods are evolving. Fortunately, payers and providers have begun taking steps to accommodate these changes.
