The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services has announced $67 million in grants awarded to 105 state and federal insurance marketplace navigator organizations to provide information to Americans trying to understand options available through the new insurance marketplaces. Staffers at the organizations are trained to "communicate information in a culturally conscious manner" and to personally assist potential health insurance exchange enrollees, according to the HHS. For certification, which must be renewed yearly, navigators have to complete 20 hours to 30 hours of training, as well as additional training throughout the year. Announcement
