UnitedHealthcare Recruiting for 600 New Jobs in Phoenix; Hosts Job Fair Oct. 29-30

UnitedHealthcare, a UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) company, announced it will hire 600 people to fill new jobs in Phoenix to serve beneficiaries in the U.S. Defense Department’s TRICARE West region.

The new jobs will include call center, billing and enrollment, clinical (including registered nurses and behavioral health professionals), clinical administrative (such as referral coordinators), and management roles. Hiring is expected to be complete by the end of 2013. UnitedHealthcare has already begun recruiting in the area for the open positions.

UnitedHealthcare will host a job fair Monday, Oct. 29, and Tuesday, Oct. 30, 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. at the UnitedHealth Group office, 4425 E. Cotton Center Blvd., Phoenix, Ariz., 85040. The fair will focus on hiring customer service representatives and billing & enrollment representatives.

Earlier this year, the Defense Department awarded the managed care contract for the 21-state TRICARE West region to UnitedHealthcare Military & Veterans. Beginning in April 2013, UnitedHealthcare will provide managed care benefits for 2.9 million service members, retirees and their families in the region. More than 200,000 TRICARE beneficiaries live in Arizona.

UnitedHealth Group currently serves the health care needs of more than 1.3 million Arizonans and employs about 3,000 people in the state. UnitedHealth Group’s OptumRx business announced in March that it would create 400 jobs in Tucson. When hiring for the new jobs in Tucson and Phoenix is complete, UnitedHealth Group’s workforce in Arizona will approach 4,000 people.
